# DevNet

Arcology is fully compatible with the standard Ethereum RPC API, allowing you to use a standard Ethereum network as long as you adhere to native Solidity. However, internally, Arcology's design is quite different from Ethereum. Therefore, to fully leverage the power of parallel execution, it's still essential to start an Arcology DevNet.

This document provides the steps required to start an Arcology DevNet using a **Docker image.** Please ensure that Docker Engine is installed before proceeding.

{% hint style="info" %}
A complete Arcology setup includes an Arcology execution node with a decentralized bridge, and an Ethereum L1 for DA. However, for development purposes, starting the Arcology network alone is sufficient.

### Start the Network

Please check [this link](/network/getting-started/using-docker-image.md) out to start the network.

***

### Connectivity

Once the setup is complete, you need to [check the connectivity](https://doc.arcology.network/network/getting-started/verify-connection) to ensure the network is running properly.
